Welcome to the Red Kite Feeding Centre – Gigrin Farm!
Thank you for visiting our website; we hope you find all the information you need and that we’ll have the opportunity of welcoming you to the farm.
We ask that you please read the following information before your visit:
We are operating to limited visitor numbers each day. We are aware that many of our customers travel considerable distances to visit us so we strongly recommend booking your tickets ahead via our online site to avoid any disappointment on the day. Once we reach capacity we are not able to allow additional visitors onto the farm.
We are not able to take telephone bookings. Tickets are available to purchase online up until 11am on the day chosen (via the link below), when the online site for that day closes. In addition a limited number of tickets may be offered for sale each day to those who may arrive at the farm without bookings. If you do not have a pre-booking we recommend arriving at opening time (12.30pm).
Tickets are not transferable to another date. Cancellation requests must be given at least 2 days prior to the date on the ticket. In the event of further Covid lockdown restrictions affecting your visit we offer a full refund.
Dogs are allowed on the farm but only outdoors and in Hides 1 to 4. Dogs are not permitted in the coffee shop or the gift shop, in hide 5 or in the specialist photographic hides. Guide dogs are permitted across all areas without exception. All dogs must be kept under adult control and on a short lead at all times.
We are a 160 acre family-run working farm, now famous for our Red Kite Feeding Centre. Hundreds of Red Kites feed here every day. It is a truly breath-taking spectacle which we hope you will come along and witness for yourself.
The Red Kite Centre is located in the most beautiful countryside, in the heart of Mid Wales, overlooking both the Wye and Elan Valleys, and just half a mile from the market town of Rhayader. We have general hides for you to watch from, as well as specialist photographic hides, all of which are just a few metres away from where the Red Kites are fed.
There is a coffee shop, gift shop, picnic site, and farm trail on site.
Everyone is welcome. We cater for families, specialist photographers, film-makers, schools trips and coaches.
